Ella rock

This is an amazing creation of the nature. Its a wonderful experience if you do hiking here. Because this is the highest mountain around Ella area.

Rawana waterfall

Lipton Seat

Lipton’s Seat in Haputale is a favourite location among foreigners and road-trippers who are in look for a Mountain View vacation. This tea plantation marked the beginning of tea exports from Sri Lanka. If you go there on a clear day you can experience a breath-taking view. There are two routes available; one from the Nayabedda estate in Bandarawela, and the second through the Dambatenna estate in Haputale. To reach the point of Lipton’s seat you have to climb around 7km using one of two routes surrounded by peaceful green tea plantations and an occasional colourful tea plucker. Some parts of the road, even have some of the original stone constructions from the British era of Ceylon, and hence are worth seeing from a historical point of view. The climb takes about two and a half hours on average.

This place is ideal for a Mountain View vacation. The place got its name since its where Thomas Lipton (Scottish tea baron started out in Sri Lanka in the late 1800s who invented the world famous tea brand Lipton Ceylonta) sat down with a cuppa and proudly looked over the fruits of his endeavours

Diyaluma wayerfall

Located 1-hour drive away from Ella

Diyaluma Falls is the second highest waterfall of Sri Lanka which is 220m (720ft) high. The foot of this water falls is located 1-hour away from Ella and situated 6km (3.7mi) away from Koslanda in Badulla District on Collombo-Badulla highway. The waterfalls has different levels and natural pools on the top. Its really amazing to experience the water is coming down with great force on the rocks but exploring the top is more challenging. It’ll take 3 hours to this journey just to visit this place but it’ll take a whole day in case you need to visit the top. Diyaluma Falls is the perfect spot for a full day adventure. There are multiple falls and natural pools throughout this hike but you need to be a fit to reach the top.

Diyaluma or Diya Haluma means “rapid flow of water” in Sinhala. It may be translated as “liquid light”. Visiting the waterfall is one of the best thing to do in Ella. You can reach to the foot of the Diyaluma falls quite easily within an hour by tuk-tuk, car or motorbike.

Little Adam’s Peak

Little Adam’s peak attracts many visitors who comes to srilanka. Any person can easily hike up to the mountain without any difficulty. The traveler can see a panoramic view on the top. Rawana Temple

Its About 2km from Ella Ridge View.

This is one of the ancient temple which is located at middle of the rawana rock. According to legend this temple was originated by the king of Walagamba.the person who decides to look this temple they can see very ancient pictures with statues also.

Nine Arched Bridge

It’s About 1.9 Km from Ella Ridge View…

Nine arch Bridge is the wonderful creation of the srilankan railway. This bridge was built at between two railway stations called as Ella And Demodara.it was built during the British colonial period using amazing technology and it consist of nine curves .The special thing is the builders have entirely used only the solid rocks with bricks and cement and they never have used any kind of steel.wikipedia entry here

Rawana Caves

This is one of the tourism places around the Ella.it looks like a tunnel and the person can walk through secret passages within the cave.the history of this cave is going to the king rawana era and its also said to be related to king rawana,s

Demodara Railway Station

Its about 6 km from Ella Ridge View.

Demodara Railway station is located in between Ella and Uduwara Railway station.this is another attractive place around Ella area. The Specialty in this railway station is the same train will go twice at the same point.at the point there is a tunnel and Demodara station is situated in top of the tunnel. Dowa Temple

Its 6 km from Ella Ridge View

Travellers on the way to Ella usually cross Bandarawela. Halfway to Ella they will see a white Dagoba on the right side and a car park just in front of it. What you cannot see from the road: The cliff just beow the car park carries one of the rare huge Buddha statues of which were cut from the rock in ancient times. This rock-hewn statue belongs to the Dowa rock temple, which is also known as Dova cave temple or Dhowa Rajamaha Viharaya.

Bogoda Wooden Bridge

Bogoda bridge is situated in the Bogoda temple premises. Bridge is completely made up of wood. It also has a roof. The uniqueness of the bridge is that a single piece of wood connects the two banks of the river. This is said to be one of the oldest existing wooden bridges.
